Summary of the Nansen Passport and the EU Temporary Protections Directive: Reflections on Solidarity, Mobility Rights and the Future of Asylum in Europe
The 2001 EU Temporary Protection Directive (TPD) was implemented for the first time on 3 March 2022. The article looks to the Ukrainian refugee crisis under the broader horizon of collective responsibility for international protection to contextualize the activation of the TPD.
