Summary of Solidarity Work as Political Action: Advocating for Refugee and Asylum Seekers in the USA
The authors analyzed the rise of solidarity activism in the USA, focused on supporting refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants. The authors examined this activism in terms of whether it constitutes social solidarity, civic solidarity, and/or political solidarity. Overall, the authors found that political solidarity in the USA on behalf of refugees and immigrants are episodic and primarily local. There is an absence of broader political mobilization.
