Description:

This panel highlighted the importance of whole-of-society approaches that include refugees, First Nations peoples, governments, and community actors in international protection efforts. Speakers discussed the cost-effectiveness and impact of refugee-led organizations, anticipated shifts in UNHCR’s role, and the transformative effects of community sponsorship models. Panellists agreed that meaningful engagement beyond echo chambers is essential to sustaining refugee protection in polarized environments
