Description:

The Welcome Address by Daniel Ghezelbash introduced the 2025 Kaldor Centre Conference as taking place at a critical crossroads, where global displacement is at record levels while public attention and political support remain uneven. The remarks highlighted growing challenges, including populist rhetoric, refugee scapegoating, and the erosion of international refugee frameworks, calling for leadership that builds common ground between refugees’ lived realities and policymaking.
